The meeting commenced at approximately 6:35 p.m.

 

Topics discussed included the following:

 

  • Review of draft Charter

  • Further discussion about opening a separate bank account for Turf Development Committee - Chuck to talk to Randy Wong about opening a separate bank account

  • Further discussion about sending an email to community about pursuing the development of a turf field

  • Further discussion about approaching the Town of Sterling about the potential for installing and maintaining a turf field at Griffin Road, including potential beautification and upgrades

  • Further discussion about the potential development or upgrade of Horse Pit in Sterling

  • Further discussion about potential development of an indoor turf field

  • Discussion about potential development of turf field in Holden industrial park and Town of Holden’s apparent creation of a field committee to develop a field next to the new DPW building

  • Discussion about the potential development of a turf field in Princeton at Krashes Field complex

  • Further discussion about approaching MBYLL about potential development of fields at Devens

  • Chuck to reach out to contact in Medway about its experience with its turf field and to see if contact can put us in touch with the Town officials who developed their turf complex and turned it into a revenue generator

Topics discussed included the following:

 

  • Review status of opening a separate bank account for Turf Development Committee -

  • Further discussion and review of email to community about pursuing the development of a turf field and associated fund raising efforts

  • Further discussion about approaching the Town of Sterling about the potential for installing and maintaining a turf field at Griffin Road, including potential beautification and upgrades

  • Review of Sterling’s Master Plan and turf field plans from Medway and Barnstable and discussion about how they compare to field at Griffin Road, Sterling, including Horse Pit area

  • Discussion about contacting Rich Lane and attending upcoming meeting of Sterling Master Plan Committee for discussion of Natural Resources & Open Space on October 18, 2018

  • Further discussion about potential development of turf field in Holden industrial park and Town of Holden’s apparent creation of a field committee to develop a field next to the new DPW building

  • Discussion about Chuck’s conversation with his contact in Medway about Medway’s experience with its turf field and revenue it has generated

The meeting commenced at approximately 6:00 p.m.

 

Topics discussed included the following:

 

  • Further discussion about Sterling’s Master Plan and discussion in preparation for attending meeting of Sterling Master Plan Committee regarding Natural Resources & Open Space on October 25, 2018

  • Discussion about creating materials to be presented to Sterling Master Plan Committee with Wachusett Youth Lacrosse’s pitch regarding the upgrades for the fields at Griffin Road, including assistance in development of a new turf field complex, including a synthetic track, with potential other upgrades including lighting, parking, other infrastructure improvements, and beautification; and that WYL would seek to partner with the Town, Wachusett Youth Football and other stakeholders to help facilitate the project, including planning, fundraising, and development.

  • Further discussion about potential development of turf field in Holden industrial park and Town of Holden’s apparent creation of a field committee to explore development of a field next to the new DPW building
